OISF – Talk – A BRIEF HISTORY OF LIFE @ King Street Halls
Sep 13 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

DNA contains the blueprint for life on earth, wrapped up into chromosomes at the heart of every living cell. A new European project to be launched later this month will tackle grid constraints by turning surplus hydrogen into energy for local transport, including ten hydrogen-powered vans. The Grimond Lecture is held annually to commemorate the way in which the late Lord and Lady Grimond encouraged the spread of new ideas within Orkney and more widely. Each year the Festival invites a speaker to give a talk on a theme which opens up a fresh perspective on some aspect of science and society.
