Kirkwall BID Launches a Way to 'Collect a Pot' and Support the Local Economy
Collection Pot is an innovative way for an individual or organisation to set up an online collection for birthdays, retirements, housewarmings, thank you gifts - any special occasion you can think of.
Kirkwall BID Consultant Laura Bruce explained, “Kirkwall BID and Collection Pot working together makes so much sense. This new partnership enables people to join forces to show appreciation for key workers and volunteers, as well as providing friends and family with a great gift. You collect money easily and without personal contact, and the lucky recipient's spending will be in local businesses, providing much needed income at this difficult time. With more people working from home than ever and unable to meet with friends and family you'll still be able to collectively gather funds and celebrate even while socially distanced. All of the money collected will be loaded onto Kirkwall Gift Cards to be spent in Kirkwall BID’s great businesses, helping to secure jobs and support businesses as they continue to trade during these difficult times."
Local companies can support Kirkwall’s town centre businesses by promoting the Town and Cities Collection Pot to their staff or consider buying Kirkwall Gift Cards for employee incentives. This will directly benefit the 80 plus town centre businesses that accept the card, helping to safeguard a vibrant and thriving town centre.
