Judith Glue and The Real Food Café

Categories: Café & Takeaway, Entertainment, Fashion & Footwear, Food & Drink, Made in Orkney, Online Shops & Mail Order

Judith started her business in 1981 when she moved into her shop situated opposite St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall - which was originally Orkney's first supermarket!

Over the years it has evolved into an Aladdins Cave full of her own collection of Orkney Knitwear all made in the Islands, local Orkney food and drink produce with a collection of Orkney Hampers and a huge array of gifts, clothing, homeware and jewellery sourced from all over the UK.

In April 2011 after 3 years of deliberation and construction work Judith and her husband David opened The Real Food Café/ Restaurant in the back of the shop. It was a natural step to continue promoting the fantastic food produce that is available in Orkney which is cooked in an open kitchen in front of the customers while they sit down.

Blackboard menus change daily and there is a great choice of local ales, drinks and a good wine list is available with children very welcome.. The shop and Café/ Restaurant is open 7 days a week and till late in the summertime. Music and Food events are also held on a regular basis and information is always put up on the face book page about

Whats On ! at Judith Glues !

A good Internet site has also been set up online and products are mailed throughout the world with also a range of Orkney Hampers, Seafood and Malt Whiskies available to buy within the UK.
