Orkney Blide Trust

Category: Public services

Community based support for people and carers with lived experience of mental ill health.

Orkney Blide Trust's main purpose is to promote mental well-being in Orkney, through active personalised support with a focus on recovery.

The Blide provides a number of services that support people in a variety of ways through a drop-in that is open 365 day s a year and other services, such as, one to one housing support, providing befrienders, sports activities, health walks, Out & About trips and a clubhouse, known as Blide Hoose, where people contribute to the running of the Blide.

We have a café where people can have a nutritious lunch using vegetables grown by our garden unit. Support workers are available to offer help to people and to assist them in a number of ways; budgeting, socialising, education or vocational training.
