Get ready for the second annual Doggy Day Out in Kirkwall Town Centre – a fun-filled celebration for dogs, their owners, and everyone who loves our four-legged friends.
After the success of last year’s event, we’re back with even more tail-wagging fun, including a dog show, agility activities, treats, giveaways, and plenty of opportunities to explore Kirkwall’s growing community of dog-friendly businesses.
Whether you’re bringing your own pup or just want to enjoy the atmosphere, our Doggy Day Out promises a fantastic day for the whole family.
BID Tent – Come and See Us!
Visit the Kirkwall BID Tent on the Kirk Green from 11am to find out more about the work we’re doing to make Kirkwall a cleaner, more welcoming and dog-friendly town.
While you’re there, pick up some doggy freebies, including:

It’s also the perfect place to learn more about how we’re supporting dog-friendly initiatives across the town.

No Doggy Day Out would be complete without a Dog Show!
Bring your pup along and take part in a fun and friendly competition celebrating dogs of all shapes, sizes and personalities.
We have Liam McArthur and Marcus Cordock to judge and compare the event!

12:00 – The Dog Show Begins
All participating dogs will receive treats, and winners will receive rosettes and prizes.

Our overall winner will be crowned Best in Show and will receive a special prize including a NorthLink voucher.
Dog Agility Fun Contest
Try something different with our Dog Agility Fun Contest, running throughout the day at Restart Orkney.
Dogs can test their skills on a creative agility course made from repurposed items, including:
Tables and cloth tunnels
“Bollards” to weave around
Fun obstacle challenges
The team at Restart will also have:
Colouring sheets for kids
A cosy “dog sitting room” inside the shop
Photo opportunities for social media
