Get Ready for Kirkwall BID’s 2025 Halloween Fancy Dress Parade!
We’re thrilled to announce the return of one of Kirkwall’s favourite community events - the Halloween Fancy Dress Parade 2025!
Date: Saturday, 25th October 2025
Time: Parade begins at 2:00 pm (please arrive by 1:45 pm)
Route: From Bridge Street to Victoria Street (meet oustide the Kirkwall Hotel)
This year’s parade promises to be bigger, brighter, and spookier than ever! Join Kirkwall BID and Kirkwall City Pipe Band as we fill the streets with music, colour, and costumes of every kind - from ghosts and ghouls to superheroes and sparkling fairies.
We’ll once again pause on Broad Street to enjoy a special performance from the Pipe Band before continuing on to Victoria Street, where the parade will finish in style with another rousing tune and a sweet treat for everyone, handed out by our friendly Kirkwall BID marshals.
Everyone is welcome - and fancy dress is strongly encouraged!
Whether you come solo, with friends, or as a family group, it’s all about joining in the fun and celebrating the Halloween spirit together. Anyone under the age of 12 has to be accompanied by an adult.
After the parade, why not keep the fun going?
Kirkwall BID will be hosting BOO-tifull photos inside the foyer of the Kirkwall & St Ola Town Hall, you'll be able to get your spooky photos taken and enter our fancy dress competition! The Fancy Dress competion will be judged by XXX, with 3 £50 Kirkwall Gift Cards to be won! There will be one prize for 0-10years, one prixe for 11-20 and one price for 21+ age group.

Kirkwall BID businesses will be hosting neeps for our Neep Hunt, with 3x £25 Kirkwall Gift Cards up for Grabs. Find all 25 to be entered into our competition to win.

Kirkwall BID businesses will also be taking part in our 'Nasty Neeps' Neep carving contest, these images will be shared on our websire and social media to allow the public to vote for their favourite. So why not go a wander through the town to see which is your favourite.
