Kirsty Talbot Appointed as Kirkwall BID Manager

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kirsty Talbot as the new BID Manager. With a strong background in events and team management, Kirsty brings enthusiasm, strategic insight, and extensive experience to the role. Her appointment represents a significant new phase in Kirkwall BID’s ongoing commitment to advancing local growth and strengthening community cohesion.

Kirsty said:

“I am absolutely delighted to be starting as Kirkwall BID Manager, and look forward to representing our members, championing the businesses, and creating new and exciting ideas that will bring more people and business to our town centre.”

Kirsty most recently served as Games Director for the Orkney 2025 International Island Games, where she led the team that delivered the largest event in Orkney’s history - firmly putting Kirkwall and Orkney on the map as hosts of world‑class events. She has managed events and projects across the UK and Europe for more than 20 years.

Kirkwall BID Chair Cheryl Chapman said:

“The Board is delighted to appoint Kirsty as the new BID Manager. Bringing someone with her wealth of experience is a tremendous asset to Kirkwall BID and to the town centre.”

Kirsty’s first priorities will include meeting BID members and overseeing the recruitment of a part‑time Events & Admin Officer. She will focus on building and strengthening relationships with members and exploring how the organisation can work in partnership to support and enhance the town. Kirsty is eager to collaborate closely with businesses and contribute to Kirkwall’s continued vibrancy and appeal.
